In 1993, Lou Genta left his business of 25 years in Detroit and moved to the Gladwin area where he and his family owned a lakefront cottage. He started Northern Professional Lawn and Landscaping Services with a lawn mower and a list of 30 customers.

In 15 years, Nor-Pro has grown to employ a crew of 22 full-time employees who offer comprehensive, four-season landscaping services to over 2,500 satisfied customers.

The Nor-Pro team regularly attends workshops and certification programs offered by the industry in order to ensure that the customer receives professional, quality, state-of-the-art service.

Nor-Pro is a member of the Michigan Nursery and Landscaping Association, the Michigan Green Industry Association, the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), Irrigation Association and the Gladwin Area Chamber of Commerce.

Nor-Pro has been featured in articles in the Gladwin Record, The Gladwin Buyers’ Guide, the Bay City Times and the Mid-Michigan Medical Center Hospital News. In addition, Nor-Pro was presented with the Gladwin Area Chamber of Commerce People’s Choice Award.
